Boy, I didn't realize how long it has been since I have written a blog entry here. Well, things have been rather busy, and it seems that are beginning to again for this year. However, as I have been busy doing various things my wife, Michelle, had me cleaning out a closet here in my workshop. I came across a real treasure there. In a frame...

Where can I get a "proper" SANTA BEARD?

Where / how / what sort of Santa Beard can I get?
I had shaven my face, totally clean - back in May as I have donned no fur since this time. After 35 years of donning some sort of facial-cover, I like this clean feel!

And which type of beard (Yak hair, synthetic, or else) is THE EASIEST to keep up during the certain seasonal conditions...

Summer 2010

Well a whole year has almost gone by. Some of us are still having fun. Others are living in the past. I love portraying Santa and that's what I concentrate on. Still haven't done anything with the old sleigh other that moving it to Fuzzy Foot Farm to work on there. I do have another that is ready to fly though. Thank goodness. Gas costs...

Remembering A Generation That Is Passing

Last thursday night I was off to a nursing home close by for birthday visit to my last relative of my folks generation. My Uncle Bob ,my late mother's brother turned 97. He has been in a nursing home since December and I must say it is difficult to see him there. For all of my life he lived just around the corner and after his wife's early...

Length of time in the Red Suit

I just noticed next to my picture that I am classified as a newbie. HOHOHO, haven't seen that in awhile. Now I know it means I am new to this site, I am not questioning that, and not offended. However, after 38 years in the uniform, I was just taken by surprise. I started back in 1972 at the ripe old age of 24 and did the fake beard for 7...

Yes Meghan, there is a Santa Claus

Icon 3 Comments
In a few weeks, my daughter will turn 12. Yet despite the fact that most, if not all of the kids in her school no longer believe in the Jolly Old Elf, my daughter Meghan still believes that there is indeed a Santa Claus.

She knows that I and a few of my friends are Santa Claus Ambassadors and she knows that I run ClausNet.com.

First Red Suit Appearance-Part II

Icon 1 Comments
I'd wanted to post Part II much earlier, but the busy-ness of the season crept up on me. Now here it is Christmas night with several more visits under my belt. This first visit, though, was special, because the children belonged to the daughter of my best friend since 6th grade. I'd known Nicole since she was just an infant growing up...

I was recently interviewed by a local radio station, WTOP FM 103.5, as the Post Office Santa. I work for the USPS in Alexandria, VA and as asked to be interviewed. A posting on the radio station's web site is shown on the following link. Read on, fellow santa's, as it might be a good idea for other santa's to spread the joy of...

A Little Girls Christmas Wish

I was sitting in the chair at our local Wal Greens for a 3 hours photo secession. It was a routine event for the most part, lots of excited children, a few that were hesitant, and a few that were just plained scared to death.

I have noticed a lot of children who are just dying to see me seem to get "stage fright" once they get up on...
