Here's a sample track: The Christmas Waltz Available here: Think I'll buy the LP myself

Such a beautiful audiophile recording from top to bottom. Not cheap, but nothing that sounds that good ever seems to be.

She has that "best friends sister" look, and I agree she has a beautiful voice.

Her version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" with Leon Redbone from the closing credits of Elf is my favorite. Her voice is haunting and seductive and playful all at once. I do wish they'd have paired her with someone younger, though. Not that I dont like Leon's part; it just feels like a grandpa flirting with a teenager, which is a little uncomfortable to me. But, of probably 30 or more versions I have of that song, theirs is my favorite. Hopefully, this cd will feature a new pairing that is every bit as good.

And "Christmas Waltz" is my favorite classic Christmas song, and she did a wonderful rendition here. Can't wait for the 24th to get the whole cd!

"Her voice is haunting, seductive and playful all at once" pretty much hits it on the head from my perspective as well. I'll have to listen to that song on the closing credits of Elf. Not only is Leon Redbone much older than her, but he has sort of a creepy side to him for some reason, just in terms of his vocal inflections and his general looks and mannerisms as well; not that I actually think he's creepy in reality, mind you! He's just sort of an odd duck; to my way of thinking , he's to singer/songwriters what Steve Buscemi is to actors, and to that same good effect. I think that's part of his mystique. He's certainly an "interesting" musician in the sense that he's managed to keep resurfacing in new ways for decades.

I just looked for the song on iTunes and it is only available with the full soundtrack ($8), which strikes me as odd since iTunes was giving it away last Christmas as a track from an album called "Who Killed the Mix Tape? Holiday Mix 2007", which is no longer listed on iTunes. It's a good song, but I don't think I'd buy the soundtrack just for it.

I've always liked her and love her voice. I'll be getting it. Just checked - not on itunes yet.
