Yankees-Red Sox. Knicks-Celtics. Rangers-Bruins. How else can I sum it all up for you? This coming Monday morning, somebody is gonna wake up with the Vince Lombardi Trophy in their locker room. Whether you watch it on NBC and its subsidiary networks, or listen to it on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, or over 150 broadcast outlets worldwide, this Sunday, you will discover the meaning of Super Bowl Sunday.
I once described Super Bowl Sunday as "a day so powerful, even the gods pause to watch these two combatants on the jousting field." While I admit I might have gone a bit over the top, I will say this much: it is the one professional sporting event other than the Olympics that, more than any other, brings an entire Planet together.
Which, coincidentally, is our basic mission here at ClausNET (which, of course, is cool in and of itself). But enough nonsense for now. Mine is not to talk myself hoarse, mine is to wish both teams good luck --- and please, don't destroy each other during the fourth quarter!
