[Elf Without Jingles]

Already, they are calling it "the superhero motion picture event of a lifetime" --- especially given that the Tribeca Film Festival has chosen it as its Closing Night Gala presentation. Unseen (for now, anyway), it is creating so much buzz that insiders are saying it will be one of the most potentially ambitious adventures the film and toy industries have ever undertaken.

It is, of course, Marvel's The Avengers.

Captain America, Iron Man, the Mighty Thor, the Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. --- their forces united when Thor's brother Loki sets up a scheme that could bring chaos upon humankind.... and Joss Whedon, he of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer chronicles, orchestrating it all as writer-director.

Let it not surprise you, fellow ClausNETters, that the kids are gonna want tons and tons of Marvel stuff. You need only visit http://www.marvel.com and right away, you are bound to understand why. There is going to literally be an entire cornucopia of Avengers and Marvel-related merchandise on every kid's wish list this Christmas season; by now, you've already reached that conclusion on your own. All that remains is for this ol' Elf Without Jingles to say: The kids are gonna expect lotsa Avengers stuff from us, fellow Clauses. Get ready.
