Well, well! No sooner do I share with you the news that Elf: The Musical, based on the 2003 movie, is casting for its National Tour than --- bingo! it's returning to Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre, where the 2012 Limited Engagement kicks off November 9th and wraps up January 6th, 2013.

No word on casting, unfortunately.

However, there's gonna be some top competition --- in the form of A Christmas Story: The Musical, based on director Bob Clark's 1983 movie; that one will have its own Limited Engagement at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, starting November 19th and running until December 30th. Book by Joseph Robinette; Music and Lyrics by Justin Paul and Benjamin ("Benj") Pasek; Choreography by Warren Carlyle; Direction by John Rando. And none other than the movie's original Ralphie himself, Peter Billingsley, is among this musical's producers. (Cool!)

Casting for the major roles for A Christmas Story: The Musical will be announced by the end of September.
